Peregrination

2023 - Dance Rehearsal Room Krannert, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Urbana, IL

Peregrination takes a leap away from the direct narrative to explore individualized movement aesthetics inside of set movement and choreographic preferences based on past movement experiences. Developing from Anamnesis, this work continues to explore themes of risk-taking and individual growth to turn away from worrying about the beautiful aesthetic that we often hold so dearly onto. I challenged my cast of six to accept themselves as they are in this very moment, to accept that they are worthy of being watched despite what their past dance experiences might have told them. To read an extended program note about or view Peregrination, please see below. Premiered in April 2023 at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

Peregrination

2023 - Red Clay Dance Center, Chicago, IL

A little over a month after it's premier, Peregrination was adapted for a trio which was presented at DanceChance by Chicago Dancemaker's Forum on May 22nd, 2023. After Greenfeld was selected to show work, she decided to explore what this work would look like on a trio. Annie Morgan, Sydney Tschosik, and Noa Greenfeld explored the ideas stated above further by utilizing portions of the original choreography to fit this format, created new choreography, and reorganized some original phrase work. To view this version, please see below.
